Juno Travel

Juno is a platform where traveler’s can create their own trip itinerary or collaborate trips with friends. Through pinning and sharing activities, Juno helps you create trip plans and even generates customizable itineraries for you and friends all on one app.

The Problem

Millennial travellers experience choice paralysis while travelling in a group, users want to make the most out of the time that they have at their destination(s). Since they have trouble making decisions in groups during their annual vacation time, how can we make planning more efficient so that we can help travellers manage their time better?

The Goal

Design a travel platform for adventure enthusiasts to organize and share trip plans with friends and family.

The next steps was to understand experienced travellers decision-making process when making travel plans. As well as, who they travel with or how they feel about planning with a group.

The Research

Qualitative Research:

Conducting user interviews of experienced travellers. Through the research, the common challenge amongst travellers is decision-making in group settings.

Quantitative Research:

I surveyed participants ages 25-35, most of which preferred to travel with their partners or a group of friends.

I analyzed the data into 6 common categories that travellers considered while planning a trip.

“I love traveling with friends and making lifelong memories. However, it’s hards to decide on activities when we travel because we have limited travel days and an overabundance of options and interests!

Sarah loves traveling with friends, but needs help with group decision making because limited time off work means she needs to maximize every day of her time off in order to making meaningful memories.

The selected features were based on a prioritization of high value and varying levels of effort.

These features were marked as “Do It Now” for quick implementation to provide immediate user benefits!

High-value and low-effort features:

This balanced approach ensures that Juno delivers immediate useful functionalities while planning for more complex and impactful features in the future.

We’re better because we aim to make positive memories and encourage those who may feel overwhelmed with planning, a sense of direction together.

    While the detailed onboarding process is beneficial, adding a progress indicator to show users how many steps are left.

  2. Enhance Visual Hierarchy and Consistency
    Ensure the visual hierarchy is clear across all screens. Maintaining consistent button styles, font sizes, and spacing to help users navigate the app more effortlessly.

  3. Loading States and Feedback
    For the “Generating Itinerary” screen, create an engaging loading state or animation to keep users informed that the app is processing their request.
